Alan Medeiros
Acoustic Guitar & Vocals

Alan Medeiros, a.k.a. Goyamoon, was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He started showing his musical talents at an early age. At the young age of 10 he was already a self taught recorder player (flute) and his favorite songs included — Bach — Jesus and Joy of Man's Desiring and Paul Anka — My Way. From the flute, he moved to the bass guitar and began singing in a few alternative bands in Brazil. The call for singing started in Teresopolis, Rio de Janeiro, thanks to Raimundo Vandick, a loved uncle who will live in his memories forever.

On christmas 2002 Alan left his hometown of Sao Paulo to join his family in the Bay Area, California. Once in the United States he started playing the acoustic and electric guitar and also started composing some songs. When all the songs were done and the lyrics in place Alan contacted Iran Bernardes who had a recording studio in Berkeley and Alan´s 1st CD with his own compositions came to life.

Tonalidade Brasileira” (“Brazilian Shades”) — Goyamoon's 1st CD has a very interesting mix of rhythms and melodies. Listen Tonalidade Brasileira by clicking here.

Alex Brandão
Acoustic & Electric Guitar

Alex was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He developed his love for brazilian music, afro rhythms, blues and jazz in his early teens at the same time he started playing guitar.

Then he moved to the US for graduate studies in the early 90s and played percussion for fun but left the guitar alone for quite some time. It all changed after meeting Alan Goyamoon in the Bay Area. He picked up his guitar and has not left it since.

Dave Salvator
Sax & Keys

Dave has been playing since he was eight years old, starting on piano, moving to clarinet, and arriving at the saxophone at age 11. He started with his grandfather's curved soprano, reading clarinet parts. By junior high school he switched to alto, and then got switched to bari for a year. College is where things opened up. Most musicians have, somewhere along the way, a mentor who cared, and opened their student up to new musical worlds and possibilities. For Dave, he had the good fortune of meeting Floyd Williams, who ran the jazz program at his college. "An incredibly gifted musician, he opened my ears up in more directions than I can count. He got me to really listen to the jazz masters with a whole new appreciation. He was also a good friend, a great mentor, and an amazing musician." Dave Says.

Dave spent a year in Paris, playing in a quartet, and doing a handful of gigs. Then after school, he came back to Cleveland, and played on both Motown/R&B and Straight-Ahead Jazz groups, including gigs with the Willie Smith Little Big Band. He also made appearances with the Jazz Revival Orchestra, including a concert featuring Snooky Young.
